Manisha Koirala begins Cancer Education Fund

Kathmandu: Actress Manisha Koirala has started ‘Manisha Koirala Cancer Education Fund’. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Koirala and Global College International of Kathmandu for the cooperation of the fund.

In a program organized on Thursday, the principal of the college, Dr. Karan Singh Thagunna and actress Koirala exchanged letters of understanding. A fund established at the college premises has also been inaugurated on the occasion.

The monopoly of the fund will remain with Koirala.

Scholarships will be given to cancer students under various headings through the fund. Such scholarships are said to be ‘cash’ and ‘non-cash’. At present, such scholarships are given only in the college and later those who want to study will be taught wherever they want.

A check of Rs 500,000 for the fund has been handed over to Manisha today.

Manisha herself was cured of cancer. After winning cancer, she wrote a book called ‘Healed’.
