Kathmandu: Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) has finalized national cricket team to play ICC World Cup Qualifiers.



CAN has announced 22 players preliminary squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe in June.



The team includes, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Gyanendra Malla, Rohit Paudel (C), Kushal Malla, Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulshan Jha Sompal Kami and Karan KC.



Likewise the team has Sandeep Lamichhane, Bhim Sharki, Pratis GC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Arjun Saud, Sundeep Jora, Dev Khanal, Kishor Mahato, Surya Tamang, Kamal Singh Airee, shyam (Mausam) Dhakal and Abinash Bohara.

CAN finalise national cricket team to play ICC World Cup Qualifiers

Kathmandu: The Nepali women's national cricket team is going to play the Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers.



The ICC Women's Twenty20 World Cup is being held in Bangladesh next year.



For which, 11 countries including Nepal will have to play from regional selection to global selection.



According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, including Nepal, 11 countries including Bahrain, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Myanmar, Qatar, Thailand and UAE will compete in the Asian qualifiers.



From this, the top two teams will reach the global selection.

Nepal to play Women's World Cup Qualifiers

Nominees for the Laureus awards are determined by international media and the winners are voted on by the 71 members of the Laureus World Sports Academy – athletes from the past 50 years.

Messi, Fraser-Pryce win top Laureus global sports awards

Kathmandu: Nepal won the ACC Premier Cup by defeating UAE by 7 wickets.



Along with this, Nepal has also qualified for the Asia Cup.



Nepal achieved the target of 118 runs taken by UEA by losing only 3 wickets in 30.3 overs.



Gulshan Jha scored an unbeaten 67 runs for Nepal while Bhim Sarki remained not out on 36 runs.



UAE, who started playing from there on Monday, added 11 more runs and lost the rest of the wickets.

Nepal wins ACC Premier Cup defeating UAE in final

Kathmandu: The match between Nepal and UAE in the ACC Premier Cup final has been postponed to Tuesday.



The match was stopped due to rain when UAE lost the toss and scored 106 runs in 27 overs in 3 balls at the TU Cricket Stadium in Kritipur.



Now UAE will start the match tomorrow with the same conditions as today i.e 27 overs 3 balls - 106 runs.



Tomorrow's match will also be played with reduced overs if it is again interrupted by rain. If the match is not possible even after reducing the over, a super over will be played.

ACC Premier Cup: Final match between Nepal and UAE postponed for Tuesday

Kathmandu: Nepal has reached the finals of ACC Premier Cup Cricket. Even though the match against Kuwait at the TV Cricket Ground Kritipur was canceled due to rain, Nepal reached the final.



Chasing the target of 281 runs given by Nepal, Kuwait ended the game with 8 overs of 3 balls, but Kuwait lost 6 wickets and scored 37 runs. Nepal's Karan KC has taken five wickets.

Nepal reaches finals of ACC Premier Cup

Kathmandu: Nepal is going to play against Kuwait in the semi-finals of the ACC Premier Cup.



Today Thursday, in the match held at Mulpani Cricket Ground, Kuwait defeated Hong Kong and became the runners-up of Group 'B' and will play against Nepal in the semi-finals.



Today, Nepal became the winner of Group 'A' by defeating Qatar in the match held at the University Cricket Ground.



Similarly, in another semi-final, UAE, the winner of Group 'B', will play against Oman, the runner-up of Group 'A'.



Both semi-final matches will be played on Saturday. The match between Nepal and Kuwait will be held at TU Cricket Ground and the match between UAE and Oman will be held at Mulpani Cricket Ground.



The final will be held on Monday at the TU Stadium.



The winning team of the tournament will be allowed to play in the Asia Cup in Pakistan next September.

Nepal reaches semi-final of ACC Premier Cup

Kathmandu: Nepal has won today's match of ACC Premier Cup by 84 runs against Oman.



With the second win in a row, Nepal has a strong chance of reaching the semi-finals of the ACC Premier Cup.



After losing the toss and batting first at the TU Cricket Ground, Kritipur on Friday, Nepal made the highest total of 310 runs so far.



Kushal Malla scored a hundred to make his highest ever score in ODIs.



Earlier, he scored 297 runs against Papua New Guinea in League Two in March.



Similarly, Sompal Kami scored a half-century, his highest ever score in ODIs.



In reply, Oman could score only 266 runs after losing 9 wickets in 46.3 overs.



Nepal had a bad start in their 50th ODI. As the openers Asif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel got out for zero.



While chasing a huge target of 311 runs, Nepal's leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane made a rare record.



He made a record by taking 100 wickets in 42 matches by getting Oman's Adil Shafiq caught lbw in the third ball of the 13th over.



Earlier, Rashid Khan of Afghanistan made a record of 100 wickets in 44 matches. Sandeep, who made his ODI debut against the Netherlands in 2018, has the best bowling figures of 6/11.



Sandeep took 3 wickets against Oman.

Nepal's win over Oman breaking several records

Kathmandu: Nepal has lost to Vietnam in the second match of the first round of Asian qualifiers under Paris Olympic women's football.



Nepal lost 2-0 to Vietnam in the match at Dasharath Stadium.



Vietnam scored two goals within the first 6 minutes. Earlier, in the first match last Wednesday, Nepal lost to Vietnam by 5-1 goals.



With the defeat, Nepal has failed to reach the previous stage of selection. Vietnam has made it to the second stage.

Nepal lose a chance to go Olympic women's football

Kathmandu: Nepal lost to Vietnam in women's football qualifier for Paris Olympics 2024.



At Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu today Vietnam won over Nepal with 5-1 score.



Sabitra Bhandari scored the consolation goal for Nepal. In the 80th minute for Nepal, which was behind by 4 goals, Sabitra Bhandari beat the keeper and scored a goal from Saru Limbu's pass.

Nepal lost to Vietnam in Olympic qualifiers

Kathmandu: Nepal government has decided to take the responsibility of of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium and build it.



The cabinet meeting held on Monday has decided to amend the current account during the construction of the stadium by giving 12 million rupees to the Bharatpur metropolis.



Dhurmus Suntali Foundation, which is building the stadium, has yet to pay more than 170 million for construction materials.



After the decision of the Council of Ministers, now the Bharatpur metropolis will adjust the calculation.



After the construction is completed, it will be handed over to the metropolis.

Nepal govt decides to take over responsibility of building Bharatpur Cricket stadium

Kathmandu: Nepal has won the Prime Minister's 'Three Nations' Cup title by defeating Laos.



Host country Nepal won the title by defeating Laos 2-1 in the final.



With this Nepal will get 5000 USD along with the title and runner-up Laos will get 3000 USD.



In the final, Manish Dangi has become Man of the Match and received 250 dollars.



In the same competition, Ayush Ghalan won 500 dollars as the best player.



Nepal, Laos and Bhutan participated in the competition. Nepal and Laos competed for the title after Bhutan was eliminated from the group stage.
