Nepal set to face USA in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League-2 opener
Kathmandu: Nepal will begin its campaign in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League-2 series today, taking on the United States in their opening match at Grand Prairie Stadium. The match is scheduled to start at 9:15 PM NST.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a 15-member squad for the tournament, captained by Rohit Kumar Poudel. The team includes notable players such as Anil Shah, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Bhim Sarki, and Sandeep Lamichhane, among others.
Under the tri-series format, Nepal will play two matches against both the US and Scotland. Their second match is set against Scotland on Tuesday.
The ICC World Cup League-2 features Canada, the USA, the Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Nepal. Currently, Nepal sits seventh in the standings, with three points from eight games, including just one win. Canada leads the table, followed by the US in second place, and Scotland in fourth.
