Kathmandu: Today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is scheduled to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Prime Minister Prachanda received a warm welcome at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi by P. Kumar, the Special Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

For his third term in office, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi, will take the oath of office in a grand ceremony today. Following the swearing-in ceremony, Prime Minister Prachanda is slated to hold bilateral talks with Modi in New Delhi, as confirmed by the Nepali Embassy in India.

Modi’s oath-taking ceremony will be attended by heads of state from Sri Lanka and Maldives, as well as prime ministers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Mauritius, all of whom have arrived in New Delhi, as communicated by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

Accompanying Prime Minister Prachanda are his daughter and personal secretary Ganga Dahal, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Padma Giri, and other high-ranking government officials. Prime Minister Prachanda is scheduled to return to Nepal tomorrow.

Previously, during Modi’s first term, the late Sushil Koirala participated in the swearing-in ceremony, while during his second term, former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli visited India. Following the recent general elections in India, where the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP secured a majority, Modi has been appointed as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term at the age of 73.
