Kathmandu:

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is gearing up to journey to New Delhi for the much-awaited oath-taking ceremony of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi, who is on the brink of assuming office as Prime Minister of India for an unprecedented third consecutive term.

While the precise departure date for Dahal’s visit remains undisclosed, Indian media speculates that the ceremony is slated for June 8, pending official confirmation.

The aftermath of the recent Lok Sabha elections saw Modi tendering his resignation and dissolving his cabinet in preparation for the formation of a new government. In a unanimous decision, the coalition rallied behind Modi, endorsing him as their leader and nominating him for the premiership once again.

Efforts are underway to coordinate Dahal’s visit with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, ensuring seamless arrangements for his attendance at the ceremony. Following the victory of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the elections, Dahal conveyed his felicitations to Modi and accepted the invitation during a cordial telephonic exchange, subsequently acknowledged by Modi on the social media platform X.
