Kathmandu: Sudarshan Thapa, celebrated film director and artist, has been apprehended by authorities in Kathmandu. The arrest comes amidst escalating controversy surrounding his involvement in the film ‘Prasad 2’.

According to the Kathmandu Police Department, Thapa was taken into custody on Monday following allegations related to the ‘Prasad 2’ film debacle.

The complaint, originally filed by producers Sudarshan Basnet and Jack Shrestha on July 26 last year, accuses Thapa of fraud and criminal treachery. It alleges that the filmmakers were deceived out of a staggering Rs 15 million due to unauthorized screenings of their film, both domestically and internationally.
