CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli advocates for quality film production at Nepal International Film Festival

Kathmandu: CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli stresses the production of quality films. Chairman Oli remarked that films could also be based on the country’s nature and history. He made these comments during a program hosted by film actor Rajesh Hamal as part of the seventh edition of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF).

The former prime minister further expressed his attraction to films centered on the country’s history, art, and literature. Oli mentioned that he also enjoys films with actors performing in a live manner. He emphasized the importance of educating youths about the country’s development, stating, “A country is rich not only because it has money, but because of development,” expressing concern over the exodus of Nepali youths.

Chairman Oli commented on actor Hamal’s ability to connect with society, noting that Hamal does not forget his background while acting. During the event, actor Hamal also praised the personality of former Prime Minister Oli.

As many as 88 films from 40 countries will be screened during the festival, which runs until Monday, according to the chair of the festival organizing committee, KP Pathak.The festival was inaugurated by Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma on Thursday.
