CAN called 28 players for closed training except Sandeep Lamichhane
Kathmandu: Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) has called 28 players for closed training for the triangular series of ICC Cricket World Cup League Two.
However, Sandeep Lamichhane, who was released on bail after being jailed for rape, is not included in the team.
The police had arrested Lamichhane after receiving a complaint of rape. District Court, Kathmandu sent him to prison for preliminary investigation.
But on the appeal made by Lamichhane against it, the High Court, Patan ordered his conditional release.
CAN has published the name of players for the closed training. The team includes, Mausham Dhakal, Ankit Subedi, Surya Tamang Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Gyanendra Malla, Rohitkumar Paudel, Dipendra Singh Ari and Gulsan Jha.
Similarly, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Sharad Bheshawkar, Lalit Rajvanshi, Vinod Bhandari, Sagar Dhakal and Sandeep Jora are also in the team.
The team includes, Kishore Mahato, Kamal Singh Airi, Siddhant Lonhi, Arjun Chand, Abhinath Bohora, Vivek Yadav, Bhim Sarki, Kushal Malla, Anil Kumar Sah, Vikram Shob and Bhuwan Sarki.
