Voting closes; EC estimates more than 65 pc votes casted

Kathmandu: Voting for second local election of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal has concluded. Voting thats was started 7 am today has concluded at 5 pm.

The Election Commission (EC) has estimated that more than 65 percent of the votes have been cast this time. The commission is preparing to provide more details in this regard by holding a press conference shortly.

Currently the number of votes cast across the country is being collected.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that polling in 33 polling stations across the country had been postponed but not canceled due to clashes between candidates of different political parties.

However, the commission has concluded that election in most places across the country has been conducted in a peaceful environment.
