Nepali football team to begin training from Friday for AFC Asian Cup

Kathmandu: The Nepali national football team will start training for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on Friday.

According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the Nepali team will start preparations at Dasharath Stadium tomorrow.

Head coach Abdullah Almutairi has called up 25 players for indoor training.

Nepal is in Group A of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Nepal’s group includes Kuwait, Indonesia and Jordan. Group A qualifiers will be played in Kuwait.

The top team from each group and the best second team from each group will be selected for the 2023 Asian Cup in China.

Kiran Kumar Limbu, Deep Karki, Bishal Shrestha, Ananta Tamang, Anjan Bista, Eric Bista, Ayush Ghalan, Bikash Khawas, Bimal Gharti Magar, Darshan Gurung, Devendra Tamang and Dinesh Rajbanshi have been called for the training.
Similarly, Gautam Shrestha, Manish Dangi, Navayug Shrestha, Pujan Uparkoti, Rohit Chand, Santosh Tamang, Sujal Shrestha, Suman Aryal, Suman Lama, Sunil Bal, Suraj Ju Thakuri, Tej Tamang and Bishal Rai have also been called for the training.
