Nepali football team to leave for Iraq on May 25 for a friendly match

Kathmandu: The Nepali football team is scheduled to leave for Iraq on May 25 for a friendly match against Iraq on May 29.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has stated that the Nepali team and officials will leave on a special flight of Qatar Airlines on May 25. International flights are currently closed due to the second wave of the Corona pandemic. That is why ANFA is going to arrange a special flight.

After Nepal play a friendly match against Iraq, they will travel to Kuwait to play the remaining four matches under the joint selection of FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup. Nepal, which is in Group B, has to play against Chinese Taipei, Jordan and Australia. Earlier, Nepal had won only one match in five matches.

Nepal will play with Chinese Taipei on June 3, Jordan on June 7 and Australia on June 11.

According to ANFA, the Nepali team will return home on June 12.
